Some would gather money
Along the path of life
Some would gather roses,
And rest from worldly strife.
But I would gather children
From among the thorns of sin,
I would seek a golden curl,
And a freckled, toothless grin.
For money cannot enter
In that land of endless day,
And roses that are gathered
Soon will wilt along the way.
But oh, the laughing children,
As I cross the sunset sea,
And the gates swing wide to heaven,
I can take them in with me!

Mornin' YaYa. You have such a kind ♥ and loving heart. I only can pray that you will be blessed with the amount of children that you want to give your love to.
Blessings dear one!
*crossing my fingers* *sending up prayers*
Prayers going out for you and them to become a family (and for a bigger house)! Enjoy your Real night out :).
Jumping right into the teenage years...female teenage years...phew...Your home will be known as "home of the brave." And those darling precious boys!
They have you written all over them.
Personal question (answer if you wish, if you don't, not a problem!): Have you looked into fostering?
Keeping my fingers, toes, and eyes crossed.
Hope your dinner is fabulous.
Alex

Hi girl, still (mentally) crossing my fingers for you. I really hope things work out.
Wishing you all the best
just stopped by after I saw a comment you left on the Intense Guy's journal; good luck with potential adopting these darling/handsome children!! most who look to adopt, as you know, go for the babies; it takes a special person to adopt older kids; we adopted our two when they were young; 6 days old and 1-year-old. Its been a blessing and most of the time a joyful thing (they are grown 20/23)
betty
Yep. Definitely a bigger house is needed. Keeping you in my prayers.
Those girls are just beautiful and what precious little guys...may you get matched with all of them and have to buy that bigger house :-)
Those are some cute looking kiddos. My heart breaks for the older girls. It's so sad when kids age out of foster care and never have a forever family.
How sweet are those 4 babies??? I'm praying for you!!!
P.S. I gave you an award in my Friday post. I know. I know. Awards are kind-of a pain. No expectations with me, tho! :o)
Hi Yaya...I recently stumbled across your blog and feel so deeply for you! May God grant you the wishes of your heart...the wish to become a Mommy. Sending prayers out for you and your husband.

Alicia I haven't had time to comment this week but I'm reading! What beautiful children! I know this will happen for you soon. I am always just in awe of you! I love how you are even wanting to adopt older children. A lot of people just don't even look at them.
Thinking of you while Josh is away. Been there done that!
My heart skipped a few beats looking at these pictures.

The kids are gorgeous! Crossing my fingers for you as always.

I am kind of heartbroken for you right now. What is the "normal" wait to get a child placed with you for adoption?
One of these kids just has to find their way to your house and soon.
i love that they have red hair... constantly praying and keeping fingers crossed for you... enjoy your weekend!!! :)
They are gorgeous and yay for you guys being willing to adopt teens! Not everyone is so willing and they deserve a loving family like you two too!!
They are all cute, but Jillissa kind of looks like you as a kid... :)

They all are beautiful! I do hope you get that big house and you fill it up!
Alicia,
You always find the most beautiful poems and quotes. I am sending prayers and positive thoughts to you and Josh regarding becoming parents somehow, some way. Whether it's via adoption, fertility treatment, or both... my wish is for you two to become parents as soon as possible because I know how long you've waited and how badly you want to be parents.
Jeanne

That's a beautiful poem. And those kids--the two girls are beautiful--are you sure you want to start with beautiful teenage and almost-teen girls? I can imagine the issues with teen boys while you're still settling in to life as a family! Those little boys are adorable.
Beautiful poem!
Beautiful children! Praying for you!!!
Holy moly, girl! 102 comments! The box took forever to load! You are one popular chica!
Anyway... thanks so much for stopping by while I was away! :) How are you doing with everything? Is hubby still away? Hope you are hanging in there!
They're all beautiful children and it's heartbreaking that they are not already in permanent loving homes. I hope very much that things work out for you, and for them.

Here's hoping you get the houseful that you desire...and need a bigger house! :)
Happy Birthday and Happy SITS Day! You ROCK! :)
Hi and happy birthday!!
Beautiful poem.
..
Can't wait til you have a houseful.
I started with two and currently have six...
Beautiful poem...beautiful reminder to enjoy what you've got! Sometimes I get overwhelmed with the non-stop chatter at my house. I always step and remind myself that this moment won't last and to enjoy it while it does.
Good luck with the adoptions AND the birth mother AND your own!
Happy SITS day!
That was a wonderful poem! I am hoping that soon your house is filled with the children you so deserve to love and care for. I am praying for you :)
Hi Yaya. I'm hoping that before too long you will have the family you have been dreaming of. Sending smiles. :)
Some people are born to be Mommies. You seem like one of those people. You have the perfect combination of humor and love to give. Exactly what every child needs.
Best of luck!
That poem is beautiful!
Sure hope you get your full house! Just from reading your blog, I think you'd be a great mom and provide a very loving and fun home for the children.
Congrats on your SITS day and Happy Birthday too!
Such a sweet poem.
Ohhhh I loved tht poem. It makes me want to just grab every kid I can get my hands on and give them a cookie and a kiss. Your house is going to be the house on the block that every kid wants to go to, at the very least to join the dance parties! You are going to be a blessing in your kids' lives--I can't wait for you to start kissing and cookie-ing!
I am saying a prayer for you and Josh. When I hear a story like yours; someone that is generous, loving and wants to be a parent so badly, it really touches me. I am thankful for those, like you, that care so much for children and really get what it is all about. There are some lucky kids out there that are going to be able to call you "Mommy" one day. Best wishes!
Good luck! All of the children look so sweet.
Sending happy thoughts your way and hope that everything works out for you guys. We are dealing with our own infertility for the second time around, several miscarriages later and we're just hoping for another miracle. We're not as far as adoption yet but have talked about it.
What a great blog you have and I hope you enjoy both your birthday and your SITS day!
Blessings!
Coming over from SITS. Infertility was a part of my life too... The pictures above are just PRECIOUS. I wish you the best! Oh, and Happy Birthday! ;)
You've waited so long...and it seems as if it's going to finally happen! A full house! Your holidays will be so much fun...of course any day that ends in y will bring an adventure of some sort:)
Best wishes to you.
OMGosh - how truly wonderful! I hope the best for you!
Stopping by from SITS and hoping that all your wishes and dreams come true. All those children would be very lucky to have you as a parent!
Jenn @ rookno17.blogspot.com
wow...good luck to you. You are still young, and you will be great parents....sending positive vibes your way...
A beautiful poem....
Good luck and best wishes....
What an awesome poem. It gave me goosebumps. You so deserve a house full of children Yaya:).
A beautiful poem! Much luck to you and your quest.
Oh I so hope that you get to have the children you so desperately want. You and your husband will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I love the poem. I hope you get your greatest desire soon.
I'm here from SITS but I just wanted to say that I hope you get what you want.
And those redheaded kids? SO VERY CUTE. :)
I'm at work so I'm trying really hard not to cry for you (smudged mascara is not at all professional... who am I kidding, I'm not professional).
We tried seven years to get pregnant before I just couldn't take it any more. We signed up to adopt through foster care. The next to the last class I went in for my TB test and found out that I was pregnant. A real, true miracle. My Baby Girl will be five in December and I still look at her in awe that she is really, truly mine.
I still think about foster care and adoption sometimes. There are just so many kids that need a loving home. Maybe one day when the kids are bigger (and we have more space) we will be able to do it.
Crossing my fingers for you! The kids are adorable! And yes, sounds like you'll need a BIG house!! Happy SITS!
My heart aches for you to have the family that you want. I understand, as Greg and I don't have any children and I have female issues. We've been trying, but don't think we'll have children. He doesn't want to try fertility drugs and we'll both be 40 or over this month, and have been told that age such an age, adoption isn't likely.
Wishing you the best!!!!!
Thanks for sharing that poem with us. I will continue to send positive thoughts and wishes your way!
I'm over from SITS and I read your 2 "kids" posts first, because I knew I'd identify. I also had 2 miscarriages and knew I wanted to be a mom, so I also went through home study, adoption paperwork (but no placement) before finding out I was preg. (miracle or adoption cliche) and somehow carrying to term. Just like Jennifer, I also think about adoption and fostering and absolutely know I would have loved that route and that this way is different but no less real. If my partner wasn't 55 and "done", I would have adopted already.
Best of luck that you will soon have a bustling household and get to share your abundant love with your new family. Can't wait to read about it.
Such Beautiful children!
We'll say some extra prayers and hopefully you'll have good news soon!
I hope you find favor and success with the adoption/insemination process! What a beautiful poem to share.
Have a blessed birthday, SITSta!
It's probably ALL going to go through..you are really going to need a bigger house!
Blessings Gurli!
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
I hope you become a mother very, very soon.
I do hope you need a bigger house! Thanks so much for sharing all of this..it truly is inspiring.
How wonderful to read this again! ;-)
Nice!

Don't Put Lizards In Your Ears
I so hope your house busts at the seams full of children. That's the best thing to gather, in my opinion! Stopping by from SITS.
Just stopping in from SITS. I just wanted to say that the adoption issue is near and dear to my heart....my sister in law adopted a baby 14 months ago and just had a baby 3 weeks ago! I hope your prayers are answered and that you life will be blessed with many children. (Hearing stories like this only makes me more grateful for my wee little ones.....even on the craziest of days!) You will be an awesome mom because really? Kids LOVE dancing and you're one rockin' dancer!
Good luck with all of that. Like the rest of the ladies, I too, hope that your house is over flowing with the pitter patter of little feet! Happy SITS day to you.
Wishing you all the best with whichever way makes you a mom! Sounds like you'll be a great one! My cousin finally became a mom this last spring, of a beautiful adopted baby girl after 9 years of ups and downs... And I am confident you will be a mom, too!!!!
Happy SITS Day!
***Ally
That will definitely be a very full house. Good luck and my prayers are with you.
Happy SITS day!
From zero to six in warp speed?? Hold on tight, it could be quite a ride....
Hoping you need that BIG house soon!
wow that will be a houseful. You guys are amazing. It's not everyone that's willing to take on a large sibling group!! Kudos to you both!!!
Happy SITS day. Glad I got to stop by. :)
I will boast and say I was reading you BEFORE you got rich and famous! Oh, ok, just famous. ;o)
Congratulations!
I will boast and say I was reading you BEFORE you got rich and famous! Oh, ok, just famous. ;o)
Congratulations!
That poem is just so beautiful it made me cry -- so it did it's job beautifully!
When you finally get your kids I'm gonna miss you're probably-not-as frequent-blog visits but I guess I'm just gonna have to put up with that.
:)
Now, wanna go back and read that poem again.
Oh my gosh!! I think I might have missed this post!!
Anyhoo..I love the poem. So wonderful.
The kids are such cuties. Wishing and hoping!!
Wow...500 followers! You go girl!!
They are all so beautiful!
Hey Yaya! Did you say "house" or Apartment Building? LOL! I think it would be great! They are all gorgeous kids! My prayers will continue going up for y'all.
Come Monday, I think I'll take you up on your offer about the Matching Monday Post. I wrote to "r house" but she never has gotten back to me yet, and I would really like to get started. One question though. If you go to these databases you told me about, is all I have to do is copy the pictures and it already has the information to go with them or how does that work? If you get a chance send me an e-mail. Thanks, PJ
