Top Ten Reasons It's Not Fun To Run Into An Old Friend

Don't get me wrong, it's nice to run into an old friend and catch up...but here are the downsides:

10) Wow, I'm getting old!
9) Gee....you look exactly the same! (Do I?)
8) Oh boy, I wish I was in better shape.
7) There sure are a lot of responsibilities in life that I never realized 10 years ago.
6) Realizing there are many things in life I thought I would have accomplished by now (I really need to finally take up guitar lessons again and send out my stories to publishers again)
5) Realizing I don't really know what I want to do with my life yet
4) Yes, I did finish college, and yes, I'm still 'just a nanny'
3) Trying to keep things surface-level because I'm sure they really don't want to get into my miscarraige and infertility
2) Having to say: Oh, your kids are so adorable!
1) And realizing: No....I don't have any kids....thanks for the reminder....

"We know we're getting old when the only thing we want for our birthday is not to be reminded of it."

10) One more reason to hate numbers! (House bills, trips to the gas pump+ price, ect.)
...
1) Yeah, but we love you and you can consider me your kid!

I still love you, no matter how hold you are (especially because you still look 16!)

All the more reason to make new friends.

Yeah...
We don't notice how you've changed
We empathize...
We're glad you don't know how much we've changed
We met because of common ground
And.........
You don't think I a bad influence (yet).
